As an Aussie my heart and sympathies go out to everyone affected by the heartless incident in Manchester. Unfortunately this is the world we now live in where of all things a concert mainly aimed at the young is attacked in this way. To the parents and families of those killed or injured my heart goes out to you all but also to anyone that was there, it is something that the young should not have to experience.

Considering the under 23s got promoted last night and Martinez scored, is it time that he had a chance in the main team? I haven't seen him play but he seems to do the business at that level so who's to say he cannot do it at the higher level. Maybe he could get a squad place for Burnley?

Mathematically Possible but unlikely. So barring a huge win over Burnley and results elsewhere heading in our favour we're ending the season in the bottom half of the table!
It seems to be only the last few weeks, that the upheaval we've faced this season, has contributed to us falling below many fans expectations which I'm sure included another shot at Europe.
So a tough season but we've escaped the tragedy Hull, Boro and Sunderland face, so what if any are your expectations for next season? Do you see us battling for survival with the same crock forwards, or challenging in the battle for a coveted European spot. The ole chestnut of a decent cup run I'm sure will figure for many.

Great news......now lets see the club sign players to support our better players

There was a great book and movie about statistics and baseball -- "Moneyball" -- which showed how a team on a budget could still make a go of it just by running statistics to the nth degree. Now there is a book about football -- The Football Leaks -- which shows what a dirty, corrupt game the top flight is. The movie should be called "Slimeball". One of the things coming out is how outrageous and imperious the agents are. Pogba's agent may have got as much as £41M from his transfer. It's an amount so obscene for what the agent does as to beggar belief. We've talked on this site many times about what is ruining/has ruined the game and this must surely be a big factor. Now every time a player won't sign for us I'll think it's because his agent wanted some ungodly amount in a brown envelope just to make the deal official. Opinions?

Fonte, getting better and more confident-
Collins, the old man in defence is like a fine wine, getting better with age- 8
Reid, the rock at the back, forming a great trio in defence and not scared to go in hard-8.
Byram, still finding his ground but improving- 6
Cresswell, still not back to his best but on his way, capable of that great pass-7.
Noble, treads a fine wire with some of his passes and tackles can be a worry but you can't fault his passion- 7
Kouyate, makes the opposition work hard and is strong in all aspects in midfield, worked hard-7
Ayew, had a good game and created some good chances but needs to bury them,-7.
Callers, his best game so far, like Ayew he needs to learn how to score but I think once he does he could kick on, was all over the field creating havoc for spurs defence- 8
Lanzini, man of the match performance from our most improved player this year, has jumped at the chance to be the main man after that prick left us and showed how much the Hammers means to him after he scored with the crossed hammers sign. Hope none of the big clubs noticed.-9
Snodgrass and Fletcher coming on late worked hard to finish the game and for me the best win this year. And finally
Bilic-10. His team selection, tactics and subs where perfect. It's taken a long time but to change to a 3 man defence with wing backs was inspiring and the boys have not let him down with clean sheet a plenty. No doubt others will have different ratings but that's why this is a fantastic site, no one is afraid to put there thoughts down for discussion.

So we apparently have money to spend 'again' bear in mind we made no marquee striker signing last season so in my eyes we under spent/ spent poorly, January especially.
Everyone has us nailed on for Defoe which adds depth, but surely we can't rely on him to be out and out no1.
Then there's the sturridge links, he'll be off to Everton when lukaku leaves (who by the way I reckon the spuds will go in for him which is a shame) so count him out.
Modeste from Germany looks a prospect and links to him might actually carry some legs. Decent but again not proven.
There are a few more names I could rattle off, but if I was slaven id be on the phone to pep and ask how much he wants for iheanacho. Offer a buy back clause and watch him bang them in for us.
If we got that lad for 15/20 mill he'd be worth every penny.
Nobody is coming for Carroll so we use him when he's fit along with hopefully modeste and iheanacho throw in Defoe off the bench and we look handy.
Sak will be off which is a shame as on his day is a very talented boy.
Wish list maybe but definitely attainable unlike the icardi's and lacazettes of the world.

breaking news that west ham are one of the clubs targeted and raided by HMRC this morning .....to deal with tax evasion etc oh dear what mess is ahead for the club I wonder
