Will we get a decent striker

Submitted by albyforeverirons. on

So far we have been linked with more strikers than there are in a coal mine, its disappointing. I for one would be happy to see Chicherito come but looking at the reports about the others like Giroud, Iheanacho and the like I can't see them happening. Not to sure about the Burnly bloke so where does that leave us. Now we have been linked with Dembele from Celtic which won't happen as the bigger clubs will fight for him so like has been said on here before I would look at Assobalongo, he is quick and knows where the goal is and we could probably get him for 10 to 12 million as Burnly have had a bid refused. The thing is last season's buys where a fiasco that nearly had us relegated and unless the 2 Davids pull their fingers out we wil be in the same boat this year. I know we still have the sick room twins but we need players that can at least play a few more games than them. Still plenty of time before the owners start to panic buy but we have to start soon.

Shit sandwich

Submitted by darrenharry on

So having landed back in Blighty this morning after a lovely 10 nights in Mallorca, navigating the various wankers at the baggage carousel who insist on having their crotch as close to the revolving belt as possible (always ensure you smash your your case into the jewels with a "shit sorry mate" - always works) and then navigating the other type of cunt on the M25, we found ourselves home. The door slides to a plethora of unwanted mail. Frantically searching for house alarm fob whilst swearing at the kids the help and stop moaning (such a wonderful journey for all concerned) I was mildly surprised to see the weather had done its best to follow us.
The Mrs is obsessed with the washing machine (for reasons I'm too worried to explore) so that's slammed on sooner than I've checked the sky planner to make sure everything has been recorded as set - lions/glasto etc).
It's then that sanity prevails and we retire to the garden. Thoughts turn to dinner, much like G&S probably turn their thoughts to strikers after exploring their belly button fluff.
We can't be arsed with much. I'm certainly not bbq'ing, after an all inclusive that's seen me eat more meat than Jordan. We agree on cold meat and salad. Now like any man worth his salt, bread has to be involved when salad shows up. This wispy rabbit food shite can't be taking any glory in a fork. It has to be played in a secondary role, behind the main event (cold meat) and sandwiched between something sturdy (bread).
As is my brain, I deduced that lanzini is salad. However, he can't exist without cold meat and bread. Problem at the moment is that the salad is of incredible quality, but the cold meat is spam and only one side of the bread is cooked enough. Essentially, Lanzini is part of a shit sandwich.
We can bounce around names of strikers until my full spin has finished (which it seems is over 3 'kin hours) but it matters little unless they fit into our Argentinian magicians pattern. So I would counter all the striker arguments by just settling out brown eyed boys down with a nice 5 year contract, asking what toys he'd like to play with and nailing it.
He's that important in my eyes.
I tried to explain this to the wife but she insisted the washing machine needed another load. Don't get the attraction myself. Pass the mayo.

Theo Wallcott

Submitted by cast iron on

Dont know about you but I think Wallcott will fit in beautifully at West Ham in the hospital bed alongside Carrol and Sacko. I Also see that Oneyruku has now got a work permit for the UK this is the sort of player we should be going after not some injury prone player like Theo Wallcot we had enough of them last season.

Ah the past

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on

Sometimes you question being a hammers fan. So after seeing a mention of pop robson I you tubed him, and immediately remember why. Saw a video and it's so easy to forget the exciting players we have had to watch in my time. Not so much now. No one worth watching this season. We all know the greats but there is so many more you take for granted. Pop robson, pat Holland, David cross, graham pad don, frank snr, billy Jennings, Keith Robson the list is many. Even loved the fact players had to take a corner from the first row in the stand. We don't have these now, so depressing.

The Curse

Submitted by Dartford Bhoy on

Bit of light hearted stuff for a Friday folks. I thought our luck was hampered by an old UP curse but maybe not.

Looking at the high emotional video used to entice us to part with hard earned cash for the new seasons shirt I note again that the original crossed hammers show the hammer heads face pointing away from each other unlike todays badge where the heads face inwards.

Now this got me thinking. Its known to be bad luck to have a horse shoe that points downward as the Luck is said to run out so clearly our bad luck was no Indian Burial ground at the Boleyn, rubbish players, a gypsy curse or a drab but much loved song that refects on "like my dreams they fade and die" its all down to the dam badge being the wrong way round :o)

Happy Friday everyone, COYI's!!!!

Our board about to be out trumped again?

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on

In the last 18 months our board have acted in the most crazy and incompetent way they must surely be currently the worst in the premier league. But now it has come to light there is a contender to their crown. Admittedly it's an outsider but I'm sure Sullivan, Brady and gold won't take this laying down. West brom are reported to be giving Johnny Evans a new deal worth 100,000k a week! So, the ball is in sullivans court as he won't want anyone stealing his limelight. Watch this space.

Nortveldt off

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on

Well nortveldt has been sold, reported 8 million. I'm in a minority but feel to get rid of him after one season is a bit premature, having said that, it's exactly why the board are happy to buy Nort and feg. No outlay but will always get a fee back when sold. 8 mill profit no 20 mill striker bought last season, God the board must have a mattress stuffed with money.

The Academy... really?

Submitted by Dartford Bhoy on

I was rather surprised by the lack of, well any, Hammers in the England under 20 and 21 squads. so where are they and in particular Reece Oxford wanted apparently by all the top clubs??? If the strategy is only to Buy (home and abroad) and not develop then so be it......... if it works.

Milwall Respect!!

Submitted by Naples Hammer on

Just read about Roy Larne (news now UK) Respect !!! Love his new name as Lion of London Bridge... Love the picture of the running magazine someone gave him too!. This is the type of headlines that people here (US) don't get... How the English stand up and fight without the red white and blue flapping in their ears.. The fight that won two world wars where 1/3 of the globe was shown in pink, and the sun never set on the British Empire. You don't hear of the Roys of England too much, but the world better know they are there!!!!
