Plenty of rumours in the press in regards to Rice attracting Palace and Bournemouth’s attention which had died away but has come back due to the signing of Diop. It’s an easy one for the media to make something out of nothing with Rice not yet signing a new deal and Diop seemingly ahead due to the cost of his signing. My thoughts are more around Rice being our first choice defensive midfielder or possibly the pair of them becoming a partnership. Pel plays a fast paced game and being able to play the ball from the back is another aspect of his teams. My immediate thoughts are Reid and Ogbona should be feeling the pressure. More soReid but if Rice goes into midfield Kouyate and Noble could be competing for their place. Niether are really defensive midfielders and it’s a position we’ve not had for a while. Noble makes the passes and covers the pitch but too slowly for a Pel type of team. Kouyate should be box to box but lacks ball control. Who do you think is in trouble at keeping their place in the team? With more signings to come there is probably more than one answer.

OK just a question about this VAR after watching the world cup today.....France got a penalty but the game went on as the ref said no and about 15/20 secs later he stopped the game and went to consult the VAR tv and then gave the penalty the same just happened for Peru in the Denmark match with again the match continuing until the ref stopped play after being called to go check VAR...and again gave the penalty.....Now a couple of questions really...one is why was the game not stopped whilst VAR was being checked? because secondly what would of happened if whilst its being checked the other team had scored?..the Argentina game an appeal for a pen was not given by the ref(not talking about pen given and the one messi missed)as he reckoned the argie player had dived but tv replays showed it was a penalty but because the ball had gone out of play and then restarted with goal kick VAR cannot be used!! I also thought that VAR was to assist the officials and he can still stick with his original decision but apparently not....whilst I am still not sure it was a pen to France others did that is football but this VAR mmm not so sure right now.

Could there have been a situation where the player's agent acted to get a huge percentage of the profits from his underhand tactics?

This is only a coincidental speculation and not a fact, but could it apply to various players and clubs themselves involved with such speculation. This was a flip flop season for West Ham, where some players showed up for some games and then were total passengers in other matches. Same with numerous clubs around the globe including the Italian League. We have seen FIFA officials charged. But how widespread is it?
