Just a thought seeing as how we played them last week end ,was any of you at Wembley when we beat them in the final ?it's the year I lost my heart to West Ham ,watched it on the telly 13years of age ,it's as if football waited for me to take an interest and gave me the irons ,for me football would never be the same again ,

Saturday late afternoon and we proud Hammers fans who made the journey south (yes south) to Preston were not only treated to an entertaining fare but at Preston Railway Station managed to catch up with the squad as they waited for the train to Euston. Our boys travelled from Cumbernauld, Blantyre, Hamilton, Motherwell, (all just outside Glasgow) Kilmarnock, Perth and Edinburgh, a father and very young son from Edinburgh approached the players and the little lad with programme in hand got the boss and players autographs and had some pics taken of him with the players. It made his day and he will have that fantastic memory for the rest of his life. The look of sheer delight on his face was something special and he was looking forward to showing his mum when he got home.
I was lucky to get my pic taken with Adrian, Arnie and Robert Snodgrass (all very obliging and Snods is a really nice fella). Arnie agreed to a pic only when I put down a four pack and I wouldn't mind they weren't mine but my mates (I was guarding them while he went to the loo!!!!) I could understand Arnies point and duly obliged as the last thing you want to see is the wrong impression created and some plank on through social media would try and make capital out of it. The players and staff were very receptive to us all and with some of the bad press some players get and the game in general that makes it all the more worthwhile.
I was thinking about how our lads reacted and remembered a story a mate told me about his nephew who was a ball boy at Spuds and it was his Birthday when Man U were the opposition, Fergie was the Mancs boss at the time and the lad too a ball into each dressing room and everyone duly signed except one.... the one player who refused to sign the lads ball was Gary Neville! (Not that the lad was all that bothered , but remarked later that Neville was a plank!) So good on all the players and as a footnote I never realised how tall Declan Rice and Manuel Pellegrini were!

Well lets hope we are flying high and shooting down the opposition. Perhaps less reliance on the “pill” but with the mooted return of Payet many women may be well advised to stock up.

The owners have had it all horribly wrong from the start of the move, that’s agreed. Poor managerial selections, poor transfer policy, poor policy making and absolutely no forward planning. Talking aloud far too often, continuing to employee the walking disaster that is Brady, treating fans with disdain. I can’t believe there was a pitch invasion?!
The Burnley game could actually prove to be the nadir. As I watched from my lofty perch, I had a swelling (not that kind, it was far too early) of pride, this was a bit of old West Ham, this was what was needed. Believe me when I tell you the owners lost their bowels that afternoon. When you live your life in a turret and have yes people around you, to have people physically throw coins at you and be that visible with venom and bile, even the hardest souls can reconsider.
And so they have.
£10m a year for a manager is big bucks.
When he was mentioned I didn’t think we’d get him. Because to get him, you need to guarantee a war chest. And we’ve never done that. Ever.
I’m hoping the owners have looked at their own mortality and thought “**k it, why not, let’s have a last hurrah”. They will not be around much longer. So far all they have to celebrate in their time with us is a move. And even that’s debatable. They’ve got cash on the hip, families set up for life. If their genuine interest is football, and they care about publicity through a successful team, its now or never for them.
So, back him they have.
I’ll be honest, I only know about 2 of the signings (Fabpantsski and Wheelchair) but for once, I don’t care, I just wanted to see a chequebook.
I wanted to see the rewards of this TV money, of the £2.5m rent per year. The signings may prove to be rubbish, but you know what? It ‘aint my money and they’ve been stockpiling the clubs cash for years.
Bilic and Moyes were both given loose change.
The gunman has been given the green.
The front line now has pace. We’ve been so bereft of this since Antonio has been out (and even then, lop sided) that Andrew the giant and Prince Filip should provide genuine break option to keep up with Arnie now. Added to Chic Pea, we should carry genuine pace threat and keep teams either pressed back or always with an eye on their shoulder, not playing in front of them continually as we have done for the last 2 years.
Wheelchair is my favourite English midfielder of the last 10 years, since Scholes.
He’s a brilliant player.
But there is a reason why Arsenal have let him go and none of the top 6 were concerned.
Do not kid yourself into thinking because he played 38 games last year he’s fine now. Dig into those 38 odd games. 18 were in the Europa league and 5 in the League cup….not the most robust challenges for our glass ankled fan. When you already have Big ‘Andy on the books, I think this signing is a real gamble – freebie you say? Nah. Signing on fee and £105k per week.

I keep my fingers crossed for him but I fear we have been here before.
I assume we’ll see a couple of season long loans. Ideally midfielder and striker for me, areas that still need addressing.
But also, hopefully, we may start to see some of the youngsters.
Nathan Holland has impresses me each time I’ve seen him and he could be an exciting prospect in the Lanzini mould (amazing to think how Lanzini has to come back into this line up).
I hope the gunman is brave enough to blood some youngsters, even for the last 15-20 minutes of games.
Spuds have done this well with Harry Winks, and we definitely need it with a replacement for Noble.
So buckle up boys and girls.

We at the Org have been some of the most vociferous critics of the club's transfer policy and the over bearing influence the club's hierarchy have had on big decisions that have been made in the past, however it is time to congratulate the board for this year's business. From getting a high profile manager to actually funding a total rebuild of the squad, they have been as good as their word with the further bonus being that they have actually backed off of media soundbites and the like, get the business done and then talk about it!
Conspiracy theorists might say that the continuous circle that was displayed on screen throughout the 'screening' of the friendly against Wycombe on the West Ham you tube channel was actually a subliminal hypnotic message that will have convinced fans that the club have gone on a massive spending spree, only to find out that it has all been an illusion and that the spell had been lifted just as the transfer window shuts!

Nope not talking about my hair or whats left of it!..but no I am talking about our new signings and the incredible new look of our beloved west ham....new country new team mates for many of them the language barrier between players too means it could take a little time before the Team starts to show what on paper is such promise....when was the last time we had a team with not just one outstanding player but Anderson/Arnie/Yarma/Wheelchair/Chicarito.....UNBELIEVABLE the two new central defenders Diopp/Balbuena look big and intimidating and so on...this is going to be a great season....yes we have a tough start but if this team gels then wow.

Sicknote suffers a setback that will see him out for 3months and Winston reid the same.god when will we see the back of the fragile one...all that running on grass and kicking a ball has once again put him on the treatment table....

I've just heard that Carroll and Reid are both out for a minimum of three months. This means they will have no resale value at least until Christmas. When are we ginger to catch a break

Pellegrini in as manager,good additions in fredericks,flappihandski & diop...just arrived wilshere,looks like yarmolenko is coming as well....possibly more on the horizon,great that we are getting deals done early & its all starting to look rosy...I am one of their biggest critics & still a long,long way to go before i warm to them,but personally i reckon fan power has persuaded sugo to start doing what they promised,they have big egos but are sensitive in that they want to be loved!!;)

Winterthur 3 west ham 2...what a disgrace hang our heads in shame thought a new era had arrived but same old west ham...Pel has to go he's tactically naïve and our defence has not improved one iota...get him out:-)

apparently he has signed for 17 mill from dortmund. to be honest, i haven't got a clue about this guy other than he's a winger from ukraine. the news snips i picked up are that he hasn't been good in germany but has been a good player before that move. pellegrini must hope to get the best out of him.
