Need to look at Rice contract. Im not convinced he would run off to a successful club at this stage and just be on the bench at best or sent out on loan . He is ambitious, thats obvious with his England intentions at the expense of regular international football with the republic.
He was excellent in the defensive midfielder role - breaking up every attack and doing the simple pass to start the counterattack. Think he should keep playing there rather than CB. Oxford's best game was when he did the same against Arsenal, then he played CB and Lukaku killed him
