Watching the Oxford city/Northampton cup match(what else to do)its not a bad game of football but the commentator has a hard on about the artificial pitch....some of the nonsense he has come out with really annoys me....ball drags not a true bounce all the usual rubbish and now he said it affected Northamptons team selection as not wanting to risk a player just back from injury because of the surface......they tried it when Arsenal played Sutton in the cup and tried to get Wenger to moan about the surface and he had none of it most clubs train indoors on 3g pitches in prem league they let you play and pass the ball easily...i think to many people hark back to QPHaas and Oldhams plastic pitches which were dreadful....and they are used by Russian sides in champions league so why the Football league are against them i do not no why...with clubs struggling for income surely it makes sense to splash out on these pitches which can be used all year round and hired out to help create income....when matches called of because they are waterlogged or frozen these come into there own and are a Godsend to smaller clubs...i hope the football league see sense and drop there rule to stop these pitches coming into the league because for me there argument does not stand up to scrutiny.....causes injuries well so do grass/muddy/frozen pitches so like i said IMO they have no argument.
At the time the sale of Grady Diangana was a monumental act of betrayal by the Driscolls, Grady was everything an up and comming west ham youngster could be,skillfull,energetic,willing to learn and above all youth on his side ,such players dont often come through the academy all that often ,and then they let him go to W B A for what was considered a pittance, well,all hell broke loosse ,the Driscolls were public enemy no 1 ,but on reflection were we a bit previous ?, Grady hasnt turned out to be the player Slavin hopped he would ,he's already slipped down the peckin order to the bench and as for us ?,well you dont need me to tell you ,we've come on leaps and bounds .
So the estimated 20 mill we thought was daylight robbery might just turn out to be a nice little earner ,

David Moyes has really brought the best out of him, for me tonight (v Fulham) he was out MOTM. He benefits a lot from Mas playing ahead of him and boy can he cross a ball ! (just a pity no-one got on the end of them).
For me he is our most improved player this season but certainly is back to his best and I for one am delighted.
Surely if he maintains this form he is a candidate for HOTY?
After the dramatic last gasp Lanzini wonder strike at the spuds couple weeks back something has been bugging me as to What Moyes must have on his playlist in his car and at the training ground and watching him jump and spin it finally came to me this is what Moyes had going on in his head...feel free to add to it.....a warning to Mr Moore and 65 watch your hips now as i dont doubt you hit the dance floor to this when on the pull!
After nearly 30 years the wombles return home tonight and for the fans of that club who resurrected there club from the ruins i salute you because you are true fans you refused to accept the demise of your club and stuck two fingers up to the football league for giving permission for you to be moved to Milton Keynes.....it is a shame they cannot be there in person because of the ongoing covid drama but to be back at your spiritual home Plough Lane will bring many a tear to there eyes and as a West Ham Fan who have lost our home i look to you with envy...Congratulations against the odds you deserve it.
So we have come through six really really tough fixtures and two defeats away we certainly did not deserve(gooners/bindippers)but lets face it we have got more points than we thought we would get so sitting pretty lets push on and out of the next six games four of which are at home and two away in Yorkshire just how many points will we get and will the players concentrate as hard as they know they needed to in the previous six games.....going into fixtures now where we are expected to win or not lose how will they cope with the pressure of expectancy from we the fans......Apart from the Leeds match all the other matches are against teams in poor form so now is the time to see just how good we are when we are not playing on the counter but pressing for the win.....so out of the 18 points available and considering the way we are playing i am hoping for an impressive haul of 14 points but hey this is West Ham so you never no...COYI
Not that they have not been but like i mentioned few weeks back and what we all new would happen Antonio injured we struggle....Bowen does not have his physical presence and has to be kept wide IMO Haller well is there not a more frustrating player in our squad he just does not want to make the runs and so we cannot get an outlet to relieve the pressure....i want to give him a chance to prove himself but next weekend against the bindippers i'd rather stick Yarma upfront at least he runs and trys and plays for Ukraine upfront at times, despite his mare of show today but we all have seen worse in claret and blue!.....so i hope Moyes and co have a plan B or is that B going to be Benrahama or otherwise our good form could go to pot....COYI
Comparing results this season to last season we would be stuck on Nil points if we performed the same in the same fixtures last season. The 2 games we lost we also lost last season. Though we should have got something against Arsenal this season. As I'm writing this we are 1 up on City another game we trounced last season! It's going to be a strange league this season.
