Ray 'Butch' Wilkins, Gentleman R.I.P

Submitted by nevillenixon on

Sad news confirmed what most feared would happen, ex-Chelsea, Rangers, Man Utd and Milan player Ray 'Butch' Wilkins has passed away aged 61 following a heart related condition. He was a gentleman who had a few well known personal problems, but he was a gent through and through, a great footballer, a great loss. He joins Bobby, Cyril, Alan and all the other greats up in God's First team! Our sympathies go to his wife and family as well as to all those close to him. R.I.P

How do we beat the saints?

Submitted by tommyhammer8 on

If you were Moyes in the hot seat who would you go for and what tactics? The biggest game of our season and we need to win it. I would go 3-5-2 Adrian, Rice, Ogbonna, Collins, Antonio, Noble, Cullen, Masuaku, Lanzini, Arnatouvic, Hernandez.

Hopefully Hernandez can bag another brace like the reverse fixture - free up Lanzini and Arnatouvic to support him, with Antonio exploiting the space left behind by Bertrand getting forward.

Best form of defence is offense and I hope we can start on the front foot and win. COYI.

The board and the financial reports

Submitted by cast iron on

Saw that Sullivan reckons he's never drawn a wage since he's been here well it doesn't look like he has to, he's doing quite well Thankyou not to mention the interest on the 7% loan, here's a bit of reading for you then tell me that the board ain't earning shed loads of money this needs exposing by the media. Instead of bans for fans, security etc https//betacompanieshouse.gov.uk/company/08869033/filing-history This is how much they made from selling the Boleyn. Some of the finances are also on www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham-financial-accountsrevealed/ Brady has apologised this morning about the clubs stewarding its anything to divert the blame away from the board we ain't buying it no more its about time Sullivan started to apologise for all the porkies he told over the last few years he's the one that should take the blame not Brady he is supposed to be the owner take some responsibility. You don't know what to believe anymore today Brady reckons the wage bill is 105 million in the paper it's 95 mill and we are left thinking yet more lies. Just like to see someone trustworthy running our club

The implosion of West Ham united

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on

Good god what have we all become? Everything around the club is imploding rapidly. A couple of times I've stated I want to March. But it's more than that, I want to March to show my lack of confidence in the board, I want to do it for my son and the coming years, I also want to do it peacefully. In short it's a small stroll with some like minded people. Is that gona happen now? I really don't know. Mcbikeman highlighted the incident with gold. I've seen it and feel confident it wasn't all that bad., but I was brought up to respect people of his age so I have a total conflict in belief. There have been so many baffling decisions or things gone unanswered and maybe the press if they were of any use should look at EVERYTHING that's happened this week. Getting back to gold, why did he even get out of his car? Most people of 82 wouldn't and i don't feel he should hide behind his age like that. After all if at 82 it's got too much it isn't really worth staying at the club. Anyway since hearing the gold news I have also heard that Andy swallow has post on face book (I confess I have no interest in the sh1t that comes from there and twatter) apparently he has threatened the guys at whuisa with violence! And kumb. Both these groups were very much part of swallows group that met with Brady but now he has turned on them and stated if the march into his manor the icf will be stopping them. They have okayed bill gardeners mob but no one else! In all honestly his account COULD have been hacked and there are conspiracy theories on all that's going on. This March was supposed to be possibly my last throw of the dice for my club now I have to question everything I think and my belief in everything West Ham. ATM it seems everything about West Ham is rotten to the core. Will I March? I really don't know anymore

Bobby and the board!

Following on from Nevs excellent tribute to Bobby Moore I would like to add my tuppence worth.

The march in March is squarely aimed at the board and while some aspects I agree with other points I do not and one in particular is regard the clubs history. The current board have introduced Lifetime Achievement Awards for past heroes and in my view have made inroads regards our formation from Thames Ironworks to the change in name in 1900 in what we all know and follow as West Ham United F.C.
Looking back at our history we forget so easily the Wartime Cup victory over Blackburn in 1940 indeed it should IMHO be recognised as as a "major" domestic trophy (not just for us but those winners who followed).
Many current fans lambast the board for the move from our home of 112 years and while I know that still sticks in the gullet of many I do like the stadium though agree it needs tweaking to enhance the "matchday experience".
One thing I will never criticise the current board for is honouring and remembering it's favourite sons and none more so the the Great Bobby Moore, yesterday at Anfield I was lucky enough to honour the "Great Man" by applauding on the 6th minute of the match while proudly wearing a tee shirt (provided by the club "free") bearing his image, some of our fans did not applaud maybe this bit of history passed them by for me it will remain in my memory as Bobby died just one day after my 33rd Birhday! It soured my day as I was lucky to have witnessed Bobby up close wearing our famous Claret and Blue and the 3 Lions with pride.
Terence Brown and The Cearns Clan never took the time , effort or trouble to do what our current board have done in his memory. Indeed for the faults of the current custodians, lacking respect for Bobby Moore is not one of them!

March in march

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on

Just thought I'd post on here that there is a March against the owners coming up on 10th March. Before the Burnley game apparently. I've heard it's a serious one with decent numbers. I don't know much more than that. I don't normally do this kinda thing but if I can find out more, I think I might go. I don't do fb or twatter, but I need to know details if I'm coming in from Suffolk. Just to let everyone know if they are interested.

Despite an injury ravaged squad i have to applaud moyes for still laying down the law to Antonio...being late to team meetings and training moyes showed he's not a man to be messed with by dropping him from the squad for the palace game....he would of been on the bench but nope he has shown lack of discipline and respect for club rules and unlike bilic who you suspect would of let him off with a warning moyes has showed the squad it does not matter the situation we are in you mess about there are consequences.
