Martin Braithwaite.....i cannot believe we are thinking about wasting £15million on this player ex Barcelona they will say ex Middlesborough i will retort. Moyes this kind of player is why many fans are totally unsure of your ability in the transfer market considering the Hugill drama Olly Watkins though unproven in the Prem is a far far better prospect and if Brentford do not get promoted(who knows if anyone will be?)he has professed the point he wants to play in the prem but at £22million+ i am guessing the board will baulk at that and a more ambitious side will sneak in and steal a great prospect.

Any of our Aussie fans going to this pre season comp happening in July. I'll be traveling up from Melbourne. Already have my ticket and accommodation booked for the game against Palace. Maybe a meet up for pre game drinks?

I watched a few players yesterday that are ready for another payday at the end of the season. Haller, Lanzinni Ballbuena if they don't want to play for the club drop 'em because they are not up for a relegation fight, Haller spent more time on his Arse trying to win fouls on the halfway line, never seen a player fall over so many times in a game certainly not one that cost 45 million, and Ballbuenna wants to learn how to pass they are just not good enough. There are players on loan, Holland Diaganna Cullen, Under 23's Johnson Scully better get used to playing them cos the way it's going we are going down. Were all doomed Doomed I say, don't tell 'em yer name Pike.

Karren Brady has said the prem is crucial, and I think all this about throwing the cup Snodds being injured, and Ogbonna out resting Noble, Zab needs a rest Anderson out think thispoints to 1thing we are going to play a team of reserves with Ajeti, Cardosa, and I m not even sure if Martin will Be in goal so exciting game today. be very surprised if we are in the hat next round

Cresswells tackle that was a red only to be overturned as a yellow i wonder how many of us older orgers saw it as a red card and who thought great tackle....i am of the latter persuasion because being able to tackle is being taken out of the game even the slightest contact is frowned upon and players hurling themselves to the ground screaming and rolling in pain getting up once they see an opponent has been booked it is laughable......cresswells tackle while hard was fair IMO he got the ball and yes the follow through caught the player but it was nowhere near as bad as was made out again IMO.....watching football from early 70's onwards on mud ridden boggy pitches when men were men a tackle like that would be considered light if anyone saw a Bonzo/Lamps senior/chopper Harris/Bremner tackle player/ball/hoarding all involved only for the player to get up carry on knowing full well they would get a chance to return the favour in kind and the refs just letting them get on with it.....days gone by maybe but Hard but fair tackles can get the crowd going as much as a goal it shows commitment and Fans of every team like to see that....so how did you see that tackle in context?

in what hopefully is the start of a fight back to get us up the ladder into a safe position. For me the next 4 games are going to be important. We have Sheffield away, Everton at home Leicester away and BHA home so we need at least 7 points from those games to give us a chance.
Next weekend we have the fa game against Gillingham and after watching the after match interview with Moyes I am feeling he will field a strong team. He stated that he wants to go all the way in the cup and to do that he and the players have to stand up so hopefully unlike our other past few managers he will keep the team that played today as they then have a week before the Sheffield game to recover. A cup run with intent is what all us fans are craving so let’s see.
It will be an interesting month in the transfer market for us to see who goes and who we bring in, for me Sanchez and Roberto definitely need to go and I would like to see four players brought in. Another goal keeper is a must and I would like to see another holding midfielder and left back and right back come. As many have said Masuaku should be used as a backup left midfielder so we need someone in case Cresswell gets injured or suspended. We need someone to cover for Fredericks as Zabs is good but no where near quick enough to help defence and another decent holdings midfielder to take Sanchez’s spot.
The other thing that made me happy like I stated on another post was the way Moyes took no credit for today’s win as like he said he has only been back for a couple of days but the passion he showed after the game going onto the field and shaking all the players hand instead of just standing on the sideline waiting for them to come off, to me that shows passion and we have been lacking that from the manager and the players for too long.

if it is to be Davy, would you be happy enough, or content at least? I see him as the cliched 'safe pair of hands' like many do. but is he good enough or does he have enough 'fresh ideas' to push the club beyond mid table? I believe he will definitely get us out of the current mess, getting enough points to get us away from the dreaded trap door which in itself I guess would be an achievement seeing how Watford are resurrecting themselves.

it worries me that he might be a dinosaur now, last time round he played 5-4-1 many times with arnautovic up front. was it effective? yeah I guess so, and he did 'create' a much better player out of arnautovic transforming him which is to his credit.

the positives I guess are that he knows how to set up a side particularly in defence. he brings balance to the side too which is something Pellegrini seemed unaware of. another positive in my view is that he is British, we've seen foreign managers come and go and tbh when things get tough, they just give up ala Bilic, Grant, Pellegrini still believing their pay is due each month.

would I be happy with Moyes? I don't really know anymore. who are the other 'possible' candidates? its the usual situation with the likes of howe, Dyche etc in better jobs at the moment than what we're offering. Emery/Silva are big no nos in my opinion, massive mistakes. pochettino? yeah sure but I don't think the guy would get out of bed even for the interview. Hughton? nice guy but is limited at best at this level. so then who? take a chance on another guy overseas somewhere? that would mean starting from scratch again, giving him time to settle and make mistakes etc...

ive come to the conclusion that Moyes is probably a decent choice. when it comes to experience, he has it in buckets. he is the 'old school' sort that doesn't take crap from players on or off the field, something we baaaadddly need. he gets the 'basic's right on the field too, so no more gaping holes in the defence, no more silly ball watching and to be fair he works damn hard on the training ground, something I've come to believe Bilic and pellegrini couldn't be bothered with.

so my assessment is if we end up with Moyes, then lets give the guy a real chance this time. he bailed us out last time and the thanks he got was that we 'wanted to go a different way, goodbye' - well look where that ended. give him a 3 year contract this time and back the guy in the transfer market.

if its not moyes then is this the time to be 'gambling' again? pulling up a championship manager? the guy at villa was lauded and rightly so and the sheff u manager - yes neither of those are possible but that's the level they are really, doing a 'dyche' bringing up clubs and taking them further than their resources. would they work with 'better tools'? I have my doubts.

what is it with managers these days? I know its all a results business in the prem, but come on, managers cant improve team performances from season to season? look at bilic, great season, we're all impressed, then it goes pear shaped next season and he looks like the laziest guy in town unable to inspire or motivate the club mascot let alone the players. you can blame the players, but managers like Howe and Dyche are able to drag their players out of slumps, season after season. so the proof is there. Pellegrini is Bilic all over again - good start, now he sits slumped in the chair talking to his seemingly lifeless assistant and shrugging his shoulders anytime we throw games away.

wtf is this all about? I can accept bad performances now and then, they happen mainly due to the opponent doing a job on us etc, but one thing the likes of Harry and Pardew (well perhaps he went the same at the end) could do was lay into them after and get a reaction next few games.

is it the foreign player mercenary mentality? things going wrong but he doesn't care, he only cares about his hair and where his next big pay day is going to be? perhaps, but in my view this is why the club pays mega bucks to the manager to get in there and sort this sort of thing out.

we're one place above the relegation zone, half way through the season ffs. our recruitment looks utter pants as I refer you to Roberto, Anderson (attitude problems), yarmalenko/wiltshire (crocks), haller (good but cant be expected to shoulder the burden).

I dreaded hearing the news today that pellegrini has another 'two' games to save his job. I did think he was worth keeping after the Chelsea and Southampton results but its one step forward and four back. and he seems unbothered as if its a case of the players aren't up to his standard.

Ancelotti has pitched up at Everton, obviously promised money to burn but he's full of energy and enthusiasm, just a love for the challenge. with pellegrini he looks like a pensioner who's given up on life.

and now what? we get rid and appoint Moyes again? like we should've just stuck with the guy in the first place. that said, is he really the answer for us? what about Dyche then? basic, primitive football but gets it to work. is he big enough to push the club to top 8 etc? I think we need to find a Nuno but would the board ever take a risk.
