Best West Ham on loan player

Submitted by Deluded Hammer on

This was a post I saw on a Facebook Group and generally were on the Jesse Lingard case ( probably due to our injury/AFCON crisis and the fact that he is a freebie.)
It actually got me to thinking and I can remember very few loanees actually. I recall getting excited when Robbie Keane came in but turned out disappointing to be honest, and I must admit I forgot about Dawson whose name was dropped further down the comments, probably because we ended up actually buying him.
So I wondered if you guys had any ideas on other players. For the record, I thought that our best loan signing ( very unpopular with the Hammers fans of the time as I recall) was David Speedie.

Kudos Not playing against Brighton

Submitted by cast iron on

I see that Chris Houghton has stopped Kudos from playing for WHU against Brighton tomorrow and refused to give him special disspensation to play even though WHU offered to fly him out on a private jet straight after the match. What was Houghton's last Job In the Prem? Brighton! Stinks the place out doesnt it, did anybody mention corruption? No of course not-still like to know how much he got though, What difference will 12hours make -unless of course you've got previous conectons with Brighton, Bit surprised though, Ex west ham player as well.

Losing our ID or just sentimental?

Submitted by Enfieldhammer on

Whilst watching the marvellous victory over Wolves yesterday. Seeing Kudus & Paqueta sitting on the hoardings celebrating. It dawned upon me that West Ham now play in a full claret strip!
When & why did we stop playing with the traditional shirt with white shorts and socks? Got me thinking of how football was in the past. Pre- Premier League & how much better football & probably life was. Standing behind the goal in the old Southbank. Watching the greats. Bonds, Brooking, Devonshire to the teams featuring Bishop, Morley & Quinn. All wearing the Claret & Blue with white shorts and socks. Most teams seem to have lost their ID. Always remember Boro in a red strip with white stripe going across the chest. Birmingham with the Blue shirt & big white band running down the middle. The Sky Blue of Coventry with the Navy & White stripe running down each side of the chest.
Football used to be fun. Saturday afternoons were special. Midweek fixtures under the lights at Upton Park was something else. Stuart Slater ripping Everton apart in the QF of the FA Cup. What a night. Actually felt part of it. Was it because we were so close to the action.
It would be great. Even for just one game we could go back to retro kits. 1 substitute. No VAR. Divisions 1 to 4. Football was so easy then so much fun.

I want a Date

Submitted by hammergirl on

Calm down boys i'm talking about a football date as in change the start of the season to say start of October that way you get shot of two International breaks before the season starts and only have two disruptions to the premier league until March and finish the season say mid June we can all go away on our hols and not worry till October again.

1...Carrick

2...Gary O'Neil

3...Heitinga

4...Noble

5...Alonso

6...PDC

7...Thomas Frank

8...Potter

9...Kompany

10...Sarina Wiegman

11...Redknapp lol i no just could not resist pushing some buttons

Any of those tick the box for you or maybe you have some other ideas and what do you want to see from the new man and how long will you give them to get there ideas and style of play over?

Mubama rejects contract extension

Submitted by hammergirl on

Just seen this news and in all honesty why would he sign one?.

Now none of us know if he will be able to make the grade in the premier league but clearly seeing Antonio/Ings not doing anything and not be given a chance i am sure he is asking what has to happen for him to get that chance and by not signing was that the reason he was not on the bench yesterday?

But the longer this kind of thing goes on the more likely young players with potential will continue to vote no to contracts if any kind of path to the first team is closed off i wonder what Noble is thinking.
