who would you choose?

Submitted by hammergirl on

So you have to keep one and release two who do you choose? Soucek/JWP/Alvarez next up Paqueta/Irving/Kudus followed by Kilman/Todibo/Mavrapanos then the cruncher Bowen/Fullkrug/Guilherme finally Fabianski/Areola/Foderingham

Hobsons choice or easy choice for you? i guess most of you will be
keeping Foderingham/Todibo/Alvarez/Pacman/Bowen. Am i right?

Glenn Roeder vibes

Submitted by Bubblegirl on

Anybody else getting this feeling about Potter? nice guy but clearly not up for the role as our manager and unable to handle the pressure.
Roeder lasted two years and his health suffered because of it and judging from yesterdays post match press conference i feel it is going this way for Potter and with an owner like ours who really was not wanting him he must be wondering when not if the vote of confidence from above comes.

Two

AWB & Bowen That's it the only two players in our current squad worth keeping and Bowens having a crap season but lets be honest the job that needs doing this summer is monumental so if you consider you have to add nine players just to get a team to take to the pitch next season how the hell will we have enough money for that and the bench as well?

Now i know some of you will mention Summerville and yes he does look good but having not been really part of the first team picture for various reasons i am excluding him from the exodus.

Kilman £40million really he is not worth tuppence and should go back to Maidenhead utd as he is not up to scratch by any stretch of the imagination and to prove it i would keep Mav ahead of him!.

But from back to front you have to ask who would buy any of our players Kudus being the only one of any real value but that will not bring in enough for the rebuild by no means and as for Paqueta he is showing just what a mercenary he is and despite his ability he is another who just does not care about our club and just used us to get himself noticed.

So if Potts Earthy Orford are added to next seasons squad along with Scarles well that may save the club some money but you need better and experienced professionals that will help bring them on and not heap untold pressure on young shoulders and again that costs money but also they have to be the right player with a proper attitude and not just a "name" "marquis" signing nonsense or an injury prone journeyman that we all know we love at our club as they are a bargain buy and for the life of me i hope Paulino does not walk through the door as he is very keen to come to us apparently mmm wonder why that is eh? ahhh yes dumb wages and a medical wing that will fulfil his every need for a broken down crock that he is.

So a massive summer ahead and when you look at the clowns we have to deal with it and total lack of imagination you do just have to worry about what will our club look like this time next year.

Kudus and Pacman

Submitted by mcbikeman on

No secret both want out of the club and that's fine but it has to be the price we want because Kudus has as we all no an £85million release clause that's active in July for two weeks? point being if nobody activates it and then try a silly lowball(see Sully someone else can play that game)we simply have to refuse as he has a contract until 2028 so pay up or shut up..as with Pacman his contract runs until 2027 so if Citeh want him you pay what we want otherwise jog on...of course he could be banned and that's that but i do not think it will happen.

So if our big name players want gone then Sully is going to have to play hardball like Levy at the spuds does...you can leave but on our terms otherwise suck it up you are staying.

Beware False Prophets & False 9's

Submitted by boogerscaravan on

Call me old fashioned, call me a pragmatist? But I'm in the minority, I know, where Potter is concerned it seems?

I'm quite content with what Potter is doing in the main. I don't want to sound like a broken record. But the season is gone, has been for weeks. So it seems to me at least. As though Potter is playing the long game. Running the rule over everyone, to get a proper handle on pre season.

Before the shenanigans begin with Midget porn and the gang. That being purse strings!!

Potter has sorted the defence out, now we resemble a closed shop. Not open all hours as we were under El Loppo. I must admit, I didn't realise it would take so long! It's been frustrating and I think a lot of the free flowing football we are known for, has had to suffer as a result with no end product ie goals.

But I have to say. The one thing that puzzles me. Is Potters reluctance to have a number 9 as the focal point. Ferguson and Fulkrug. The two "F's". Neither 100% fit it seems? Or are they? I think Fulkrug looks useful, Ferguson looks nervous (when we see him). So as I say, why are we not seeing more of them?

Southampton are there for the taking next weekend. A Fulkrug hat trick perhaps. A Ferguson brace, who knows?

Surely this is the game where we see a proper number 9 giving a proper number 9 performance. If we do not set up like this, I shall have to start asking questions, like everybody else FF'S (see what I did there)?

Ferguson, Fulkrug Surely!!!

Do we have any Leaders?

Submitted by mcbikeman on

Watching the Bindipper game yesterday and the struggle that young Scarles was having with arguably the Prems player of the season he clearly needed backup and a word to calm his obvious nerves facing that man but not one of Mav Tod Kil helped him guided him gave him any sort of encouragement and so the Lad suffered and learned a harsh lesson which begs the question do we have any real Leaders at West Ham?
Kilmans post match interview blimey he was so quiet and clearly not a personality that is going to give you earache and a kick up the arse if you are not pulling your weight.
Bowen a leader? not really for me a great player but leader give over...how many times this season have you seen him try to close down the opposition and be totally isolated as nobody goes up with him and you see him looking back waving for assistance but it rarely arrives.
Alvarez? not really not on the pitch long enough most games? Soucek lovely man but again i do not see the will to drive his fellow players on and looking throughout the squad i see nobody who can do that.
Does it matter some say but of course it matters when the managers had his talk and you cross the white line you need that leader that player the other players look up to who may even fear what he may do if you are not pulling your weight and doing your job on the pitch a leader drives you on demands you do better no matter the circumstance but we just do not have that kind of personality and we need one we really do otherwise players just drift by in games.

Low Ball

Submitted by mcbikeman on

How many low ball bids this summer?and silly stories about huge money bid which will come to nothing because of wages and ffP but we tried lol.

I thankfully will be away for most of it this summer and miss all that shite and thankfully the over hyped club world club nonsense...

As for my predictions as to how many low ball offers we make well all of them of course.

Lamine Yamal......Kvaratskhelia......Marquinhos... three must buys this summer lol but i think we may just miss out and get instead Charlie Kelman...Ryan De Havilland...Jay Stansfield instead.

Is it too early for Potter Out?

Submitted by Dartford Bhoy on

I'm not impressed.

I've not seen any evidence that we are seeing any improvement on Moyes or Loppy.

He focuses on defence, 5 / 6 across the back and not getting a battering. Just one nil down we are in theory still in the game but statistically with so few shots on target this strategy will never work.

11 games in charge, still his best football was his first against Villa in the cup but that's because some of the players were still in Loppy mode, prepared to venture forward.

I feel a lot of WH fans are upset with the quality of football, selection and decision making on substitutions etc is appalling. That said I also feel that is kind of off side to criticise him, its the elephant in the room, the board have made another hopeless appointment and they, and we, are just HOPING it will come good.

Fact : At Brighton he had a 12 month period of just 5 home wins and the board are worried about season ticket sales. Looking at home performances who would wonder?

just to be clear, hes a nice guy and I dont blame him, the blame is with the Board recruitment which is franking shocking. For as long as Sullivan is in control we are always going to be left behind the likes of Villa, Bournemouth, Brentford, Palace etc etc

Nine games left

Submitted by mcbikeman on

We are not getting relegated so Please Mr Potter lets try and play with a bit more purpose in these final games...Give Guilherme a Start Orford and Scarles as well Apart from the Spuds game there really is no pressure on any of the games....yes the higher you finish the more prize money you get but sod that lets have some Entertainment it is not to much to ask is it? i mean its like a mini preseason before the real preseason.
