Why has it gone so wrong?

Submitted by newburkie on

To say we were on the crest of a wave for the last 2 seasons is an understatement, Ant?, well we thought all our goalscoring problems were over ,the Chech twins ?, their worth was in the ascendancy, they were getting better every week, specially Souchec, Benrahma?,showed some real class but never consistently so, Fornals, heart of a lion but again not consistently, Bowen proved to be a little light weight ,shows brilliant skills but cant stand up in a tackle, Cress ,dropped off a cliff ,Dawson?, one bright spark in the whole mess ,Kehrer seems to be having a hard time adjusting to the prem ,as for our star imports ?,Paqueta, Scammca, and Aguerd ,one has the west ham injury curse and the other 2 dont seem to bothered in playing for west ham .
Its a real shame going back to the bad old days when we starred relegation in the face , there was allways the optimistic
View that we would soon bounce back, this time its different for two main reasons ,one the premiership has moved on, the top teams are playing out of this world stuff and even the also rans are showing signs of changing the way they play from a long ball game to a more competative style .
And two is this stadium of ours ,if we go south now there is no way we will fill this place ,can you imagine the place half full ?,doesnt bare thinking about ,and of course our saving light Dec will be gone ,how long would it be until the weeds start to grow on the concrete in between the seats .
We have to do something now before this awful cenario kicks in,
Moyes isnt the man anymore , hes too old and set in his old fashioned ethos ,who is ? ,anyones guess, one things for sure if we dont get our collective arses moving soon it will be beyond us ,and we will surley be doomed .
Sorry guys ,this makes for depressing reading, maybe i should have put a pre warning ,like the bbc ," this article contains very depressing material , readers are warned to have massive amounts of valium at the ready ".

Go West Big Mic????

Submitted by boogerscaravan on

Now I could be putting two and two together and coming up with (insert number here).

But with the Ivan Toney awards future sliding down faster than a dodgy vindaloo and 6 pints of Guinness. Brentford will be looking to bolster there striking options. As I'm sure dear old Ivan the terrible is betting his sweet bippy on a lengthy ban away from the game.

Step forward Big Mic Antonio? Would he be tempted at his age to head to West London? What with his place battle with Scammaca and no guarantee of a starting place. In fact quite the opposite of late.

He'd be the main man, wouldn't have to move house, probably continue with his beloved Reggae Reggae bros in the sunny Caribbean sea. Nothing left to prove as the irons top prem goal scorer...

Stranger things have happened...........

Michael Doherty

Submitted by Deluded Hammer on

West Ham have appointed Michael Doherty as the clubs International/UK Emerging Talent scout.

Doherty recently left Celtic after 5 years in a similar role. He has also worked with David Moyes before at both Everton & Sunderland as a first team and academy scout.

Not sure we need an emerging talent scout. Not as if Moyes will ever play them

The options

Submitted by hammergirl on

13 wins from 41 prem matches That was the stat being talked about around me at the match yesterday and it is a very concerning one. When you consider how Moyes held back in January when we all new the squad needed help and the reason being he only wanted Lingard well the season just collapsed and then Moyes made the bold statement that what he saw from the team after the Brighton match at end of the season was unacceptable and things will change.

So forward to the summer transfer market he chased and chased and chased and chased Lingard which he failed in getting so then as it was getting late for me a scattergun approach to signings.Reportedly he was not sure and did not want Scamacca but as time rolled on he got him:-) Aguerd who he had wanted he got Downes came out of the blue Cornet an afterthought Emerson as well then Onana a beast in midfield but the deal could not happen so Everton stole in and got him so all of a sudden Paquetta was the word and so here we are with a record of P 15 W 4 D 2 L 9 F 12 A 17.

What has changed? the same brand of football being played the players look depressed and fed up with negative tactics the manager who said things will change well the evidence we are presented with proves to him nothing has changed and in all honesty if the board decide to stick with him do we really expect to see anything other than what is being served up?

Say the board stick he has 6 weeks to work with the players not going to the world cup but he states he is having a break all well and good but when the ship is sinking you do not take a break you stay and fix it but i think it is beyond his abilities to do so.

If he stays i see it going like this.David you just lost to Arsenal and Brentford what is your view?Wellllll you have to understand a lot of my players were at the world cup and with all the travel they need a rest and so we could not put out the teams we wanted to for those matches. The fans have voiced there concerns that nothings changed and your tactics clearly do not seem to be working how do you answer them? The EXPERTS in the stand need to keep faith we will turn this round but it takes time to bed in all the new players. And so my fellow orgers this circus we are watching will carry on and supporters will get more and more peed off the ground will start to empty earlier and earlier and a lot may just choose not to turn up what then?

Sack Moyes now and a new man and his backroom staff need employing quicksmart so they can start working with the players not at the world cup OR stick and hope we do not get relegated and that Moyes will change things for the better those are the only options my friends.

Gone Stale.....!!

Submitted by boogerscaravan on

Well I cant help thinking we seem to have gone stale as a club. It's all become extremely predictable week in week out. Yes we have achieved a level of success and full credit to the Managerial staff for that.

Like a loaf of bread we have gone stale. Which brings me on nicely to Mark Warburton. Has anyone seen him? What does he do? Is he toast? Theres no disputing if Moyes was relieved of his duties, which looks unlikely. He would be a Caretaker Manager as he has experience.

But what would that bring? Maybe he has a bit more humility than Moyes, who knows?

All I know is unless something changes post World Cup break, we are in for a long season it seems. The first hurdle is Blackburn, flying high in the Championship. Despite their lofty position we cannot afford to lose this game.

Basically in no uncertain terms this team and the current management need a massive rocket up their arse. There seems little motivation, a sense of resignment to mediocrity. Just bimble along from game to game.

It's not good enough....

Arteta and Moyes

Submitted by mcbikeman on

Arteta went to the gooners they were struggling not in europe but in two seaons he has turned them around got rid of the deadwood and trouble makers so everyone knows its his way or you are on there way...he struggled in the beginning but now he has them firing on all cylinders top of the league and in europe and playing some good football,,,compare it to Moyes two years had the team playing well got us into europe twice never before achieved that and has been backed to the hilt finacially but he is going backwards fast and a real possibility of a relegation dogfight......so how has that happened? why? how can a team like the gooners do so much better than us? big ground well so have we money to spend well we were the THIRD biggest spenders in EUROPE this summer so cannot blame that so why? i am sure the board are scratching there heads as well.......someone has said Moyes has been given the keys to a Lamborghini but he only knows how to handle a Ford Escort.injuries? well every club suffers those so not an excuse so again why are we in reverse yet Arteta and the gooners flying?

Fixtures?

Submitted by Enfieldhammer on

I just can't understand how West Ham can be playing Monday when we have a European game Thursday. We had a break from the norm with a Wednesday fixture so surely we could have played Saturday or Sunday giving the players a bit more recovery time. Just don't make sense to me.

we have the players now we really do have them

Submitted by mcbikeman on

So we lost to the bindippers even after the miracle of the penalty given against Liverpool at the Kop end......but unfortunately for us we have a manager who plays not to lose instead of playing to win....We all no it we are all aware of it but for Goodness sake someone needs to have a word in his shell like.

Fab/Areola/Rice/ Scamacca/Ants/Bowen/Downes!/ i could go on but we have the players but they need to be more forward thinking but Moyes is not that and so we will always be chasing games....Rice we all know give him the ball let him run wth it opposition players are scared of him yet he does not do it enough...opening minutes yesterday Allison with a poor kick out fell to Rice i have no doubt we were all shouting HIT it but know he did a poor pass to Scamacca instead of doing what he did agains Southampton..Ability is clearly there use it.Next Summer when he is sold and he will be you watch the level he goes upto with a Manager who will utilise his ability better.
Downes start of second half did exactly the same of course a younger player his first start and at Anfield you get why but its not only Liverpool it is against all opposition we play.

Our players need to be given a chance to show there abilty the obvious talent we have but Moyes with his constant need for Square passing across the back and back to the GK you have to wonder Why Scamacca didn't just walk off the pitch talk about no service.....Moyes wont admit it but he has an inferiority complex playing the big boys and instead of having a go and who knows he has to strangle the creativity we have by being solid ZZZZZZZZ.......

Bournemouth Next no Pacman supposedly for couple of weeks so do we expect Moyes to think Sod it Benny wide left Bowen Wide Right Ants and Scamacca upfront with Rice and Downes in the middle? of course we dont it will be the usual conservative approach and whining on about fixture congestion squad rotation blah blah blah guess what all clubs suffering that.

We have the players we just do not have the Manager to suit them sadly.

Paqueta - Payet..

Submitted by boogerscaravan on

Thought I'd put this out there due to all the comparisons between the 2 players.

I'm not seeing any similarities myself. So can orgers explain where this has come from.

For me Paqeuta plays in the same position as a 10 I guess to use modern terms. But thats about it for me. I remember Payet as a magician, dribbling, close control, bliding free kicks a really dynamic force.

I'm not seeing that in Paqueta, although he needs time and looks the real deal but no Payet..
