Has Loopy gone?

Submitted by Enfieldhammer on

Talksport said he's gone & Potter has taken over. Recieving messages from others saying the same? Nothing on Sky yet?

your excitement is palpable Boogers, but as at 10:30pm there's still no official confirmation. Knowing Sully he'll balls up the talks with Potter along the lines, "I've got to pay el Donkey off so can't pay you what you're worth so does 50k on a 5yr deal cover it??"

Thoughts on Potter, good appointment?? ‘Success’ at Brighton but they haven’t missed him, Chelsea job was a step too far. Very few managers do a good job at any more than one club, the ones that do wouldn’t be at West Ham

i was not going to shave my legs till he was gone! so the razors out boys:-)
But if they employ Steve Cooper i will let the hair grow again!

risk one leg HG and knowing this board you could be a while b4 you have a matching pair ha ha .

The farce goes on with latest reports saying he hasnt gone but they are thinking about it. Why do the board always make a pigs ear out of everything

Talkshite still insisting he's gone. Can only assume somethings not gone to plan and is being ironed out. Expect official confirmation in the morning. Maybe it's a financial hitch?

Potter decent choice from the slim pickings imo. Why they thought lop was a good choice ...everyone knew he'd be pants

Potter has a point to prove. He's also more of a long term thinker. Let's face it before Chelsea we wudve gladly taken him. Can see him getting more out of players like kudos, summer ville.

Under the circumstances I think Potter is the best thing that could happen to our club. He plays forward thinking football. He also will promote youth from our academy. Something he was instrumental in at Brighton. He's English and will clearly communicate. Just get it done FFS!

So the nationalists are coming out of the cobwebs ,you'd rather see an " Enlishman" in charge ,get real guys ,if the English way of doing things is the greatest why only 2 english managers in the prem ,and why is it that as a nation you've won fuck all cept for 66 of course.Potter and Cooper ,wow great choices ,( NOT).
Expecting a new manager to come in and perform miracles with a team where 2 3rds of the players don't want to know is preposterous.

Burkie, mate, it's not because he's English. It's because being English, most if not all the players. Will be able to understand exactly, what he's asking for.

Lopoteugi has to be the worst exponent of speaking English that I have heard. He makes Unai Emery sound like he went to Oxbridge. I just think at this time. Our club needs clear direction. With a nod to our youth programme. Notwithstanding, he gets the modern game ethos and will transform the fortunes of our club.

Forget what happened at Chelsea. All those big egos, players signed willy nilly. No team, no direction. Just egos clashing with egos. That club had pressed the self destruct button before Potter came in. Look how long it's taken them to turn things around?

Anyway, now their are reports that he's at Goose Green taking training. So I really give up now. Is it still panto season??

Exactly boogers ,with a continental maneger,Jees look a forest, always strugling under Cooper ,Leicester likewise .Howard Kendal was the last Brit to win a title .don't get me wrong ,I'm not anti English ,infact I was born there , I just think there's so much backwoods thinking goin on ,it's almost institutionalised, back to the days of the cloth caps and pipes .even the owners now are mostly foreign .
Can you imagine the Glazers selling old Trafford out from under the man's,and sky rocketing the dosh there would have
been blue murder ,but here is seen as a couple of cheeky chappies wide boys ,a bit of business on the side .

The foreigners have stifled the English game whether managers or players, keep bringing in foreigners is not helping the English players to flourish, they are stuck in lower leagues, keep filling the Premier League with foreign talent, they then progress, and become great national players so doing well internationally abroad, where we struggle at that level, thats my opinion anyway.

Think Boogers has a point. Yes there are some crap English Managers out there. But there are some crsp Foriegn ones also. Proof is in the pudding at West Ham.
I'm excited about Potter. He put Brighton on the map. A team who are in the similar in standing to us. Chelsea was a mistake. Especially at that time with their owner playing Football Manager. I'm sure Potter has watched. Got the brief. But we must be patient. He has got some shit to work with.

I would be prepared to give Potter time, reckon he would turn it around,he would be a good fit for us,no foreign crap thank you,i dont care what they have done else where, dont mean it will happen with us....Pellegrini,Grant etc,all were with top clubs....crap.

Sky sports now reporting that West Ham are in talks with 3 managers, Potter, 2 world class managers with CL experience, one who’s just won the league and super cup in his own country, I’m expecting Steve Cooper to be announced in the middle of next week.

As I understand it. The latest developments are that Potter will be confirmed in the next 24 hours. We initially offered a 6 month deal till the end of the season with a 2 year option after that. Potters team wanted a straight 2 and a half years. It seems they have compromised on 6 months with certain clauses inserted. Quite what they are is not clear. Could be a high finish, or a cup run or European qualification. But something to measure success this season. On we go!!

Potter be sitting in the interview listening to the dwarf thinking, "this cint want's success but does his upmost to stifle that at every turn" This could be the easiest money I make in years!" Sign me up dildo

Trying to sound Potter out whilst keeping lopetegui?

Board is embarrassing. Be decisive. Obviously now no way back with lopetegui so come out n sack him.

Good to see Bowen sending Lopetegui a message thanking him for making him captain and wishing him all the best. I think Lopetegui is a decent bloke, not a good fit for West Ham, but who is!!.
