Bilic Must Be Boleyn Bound Now!

Following the news that West Ham United managerial target, Unai Emery, has signed a two year extension to remain Sevilla manager, Slaven Bilic appears to be the 'last man standing'. Quite how Bilic feels about having to wait as all the other high profile targets have rejected the post before being included in the frame himself is a matter of some conjecture, but suddenly, apparently, there are TWO other 'high' profile contenders! But what does "high profile' mean? Do they do class 'A's at lap dancing joints? Or are they the figment of a PR spin? Smoke and mirrors?
The fact is, that West Ham United's co-owners have done their damnedest to get the very best for the club they love and have invested heavily in, albeit with the potential to make a financial killing. although only one that would only be commensurate with the burden they took on. Realistically who else is out there and available without a massive compensation pay out, or the demand for a vast transfer budget?
Knowing Sullivan's business practice, it would be no surprise if the other two anonymous and non-existent 'high profile' managers were required as a bargaining facility to ensure 'Slav' doesn't try to financially enslave them as a reward for making him the 'last one to be picked'.
Several years ago, West Ham fans polled virtually unanimously over all the fans sites hoping that Slaven Bilic might become the next manager, well he is going to be, more likely than not. So enjoy the moment, Hammers aimed for the stars and may have well ended up with the moon! (now voyager invert apology) - Ed
Of course Tottingham's Daniel Levy might try to hijack the deal just to be spiteful!

Textbook West Ham... Don't get on with the job make mountain out of it all and soak up more time the manager can spend bringing in new faces!

Bilic was in a Job until last weekend. Even if they decide they are going with him contracts have to be drawn up and the finer points agreed which takes time.only once its signed can they make the announcement

There's 2 sides to it though, Bilic for instance was still in a job less than a week ago. They all have families to be consulted etc. Moving country isn't a decision you take lightly. We have no idea if they have offered the job to anyone. It was several days after Real Madrid declared they were interested in Benitez that it was announced he was their new manager, and they are the richest club in the world AND his home town! These things take time is all I am saying.

First time on here but I have been looking at the posts for a long time now, just wanted Bilic and it can only be good news for the club and us supporters although I suspect there will be some moaners out there.

That it is not clear cut now about Bilic seems he might be a bit pissed off about being last on the list . Can't blame him if true, only getting the job if the other don't want it .

More pure speculation. One thing I will say for SUGO, they sure learned their lesson after the Martin O'Neill fiasco: not a word out of them about who they might want, that's why there are so many rumours and BS being invented by all and sundry.

Sensible article. it would be foolish to get ahead of ourselves. It was a nice idea to get a real top manager, but why would they come here? Perhaps if we threw enough cash their way they might, but I want a manager who WANTS to be here. There is absolutely no guarantee that a Benitez or a Bielsa would succeed here anyway. I'd rather have a few extra quid to spend on players.

We could end up getting Glenn Roeder back if he is still alive ha ha

I always felt a bit sorry for Glenn, he was hardly a big name in 2001 and hasn't got any bigger since! :-) Just moved to Sheffield Wednesday didn't he?

Always wished the guy well but that was some strange app by the board

He will inject a bit of spirit into the Hammers, something I saw precious little of in 2015. Now if he could ship Andy Carroll off to Newcastle for about £12M, and Valencia to Sampdoria for £30M, we'd have quite a tidy kitty for 2015/16 transfers.
