While I agree it's a big blow with Arnies omission I don't see the logic on it proving we are a one man team regardless of the result or performance. Whilst a hundred million sounds a lot it is over 10 players. I'm sure it doesn't take a mathematician to work out the numbers. Where it has made all the differance is in the squad or on the bench. We now have, Reid, wilshere, lanzini, Carroll and arnie out but still have a decent bench that can influence a game. That's where the 100 million really stands out.

but you never know, I would settle for a good performance and a draw.

With a couple of chances, defence has been pretty solid. If we can keep it up I will be a happy hammer.

Arnies not a natural striker though, he's more of a goalscoring winger - and he's immense! I'd say Chico is a natural striker - but we aren't set up to play him in an effective position. But you are right - we need another Arnie, big Mick ain't cutting it

He's a natural finisher not a natural striker - to me a natural striker is someone who spends most of their time getting into position and waiting for the ball to come to them to slot it home. Arnautovic does a lot more than that, our whole attack comes from his movement and drive, most of the time from our own half and he is all over the pitch. I only make the distinction because I think to call him that undersells what he is

I am very happy with that. The defence was solid and we had our chances but a point is a point. Night folks.

I dont have an issue with lack of possession against the top sides. Our style is very much play as the away team and hit them on the break. Had the two chances that fell to Antonio fell to Arnie we would be celebrating a win!!! Could be worse, 21% and lose 5-0 at home... Cardiff!!!

Good performance well disciplined. Great shape that's probably what did it for us both balbeuna and diop looked comfortable the former being my motm. Having said that our midfield 3 of rice, noble and obiang did a lot of good work, the amount of times they put their foot in when it was needed. My only query was masaku, god this boy needs to seriously look at his defensive positioning and needs to stop switching off too!

Antonio or Yarmo might have nicked it for us but thn again it could easily have gone the other way.

This was a fantastic result. Make no mistake this is a very good Chavski side, they have world beaters in the side. I thought we were brilliant from back to front. Too many to mention but for me Fab in goal was probably our Motm but too a man the work rate, interceptions, forced errors and general team work was top draw! Another day we could have won... get Arnie fit and .....bring on the Red Mancs!!!
