Manchester United v West Ham United Confirmed Line Ups

Submitted by nevillenixon on

Manchester United : De Gea, Valencia, Jones, Bailly, Blind, Matic, Pogba, Mata, Mkhitaryan, Rashford, Lukaku. Subs: Martial, Smalling, Lingard, Romero, Ander Herrera, Fellaini, Darmian.
West Ham United : Hart, Zabaleta, Reid, Ogbonna, Masuaku, Noble, Obiang, Fernandes, Ayew, Arnautovic, Hernandez. Subs: Cresswell, Fonte, Adrian, Sakho, Collins, Byram, Rice.

I disagree Burkie, this is an attacking lineup. If all goes to plan you have Rice for Noble and Sakho for Ayeu in the second half otherwise if we get an early injury(hopefully not!) he can switch to five at the back. Sorted.

Probably the only two that are missing in what would be West Hams strongest squad. They would have been the likely replacements for Noble and Fernandes.

So here we go again, another few months of getting up early and plenty of ups and downs. I am preying for more ups this year but let's all enjoy the season, COYI'S.

It was written. Have to say Noble and Obiang are really struggling.

Right at the whistle we make a decent effort.

Steely Manchester United effort so far. More fouls, more physical, no particular finesse. West Ham have to stand up in the second half. Have to say, though, that Pogba, Lukaku, and Matic make a MASSIVE spine.

Just a glimpse of what we are capable of in that last minute there - Got to take a chance and be more bold in the second half.
We were doing alright up until Obiang's poor midfield play that led to the goal.
Got to say though Matic looks an excellent signing for that lot.

Replay shows that West Ham should have been awarded a penalty at the very end after that clumsy Pogba challenge. Anyway, West Ham should have scored, but the strike was straight at the keeper.

Whst the hell are the commentators mentioning about the possible move of Lanzini to Liverpool as he would "suit" their style of play?

was't someone besides Masuaku with Lukaku, you need someone bigger to tag him as he is bigger and stronger than Masuaku.

from this match, zaboleta looks good and so did Anautovic. Rice showed that he was not overwhelmed but some of our regular players seemed out of it. Be interesting if we get William and that's still if, how much of a difference he will make. It's only the first match of the season so a long way to go so onward and upward.

Write it off, we'll get better.
Far superior players than us, look to some positives like Rice getting some experience (totally deserved by the way, our best player in the pre-season friendlies and replacement for Noble for me....Back up for William Carvalho??!).

To be fair Moan United look to have stepped up in class from last year and will probably be title contenders. Let's put this one behind us and start our season properly next week.

they showed Bilic and JM on the sidelines talking like they where in the school yard, I wonder if Bilic was asking him " how do you work out a game plan because I haven't got a clue" and JMsaid everybody knows that, that's why everybody likes playing you.

0-4 Not acceptable. Sullivan got Bilic what he wanted, but the result is the same or worse. Watford drew Liverpool and Burnley beat Chelsea away. West Ham should have done better than this, I don't care who was out of the side.

We just roll over against any decent team unlike most of the other lesser teams of last season and obviously this weekend. Bilics love fest with Jm is disrespectful to both the club and the fans. Especially the ones that went.

Have to say watching the game Masuaku seemed to struggle as did Obiang, Nobes IMHO did not put a foot wrong and was covering every part of the pitch, Matic strolled through the game but got away unpunished with a series of niggling fouls. For me Cress should have come on in place of Mas at half time, Hernandez was too deep and had to go looking for the ball and I thought Fernandes was off the boil, we should have had a penalty though Fernandes should have put the ball away. Lukakus second was down to poor defending.
But we had 4 debutantes and missed (as has been stated already) Lanzini and Antonio. In the first half we competed well without really testing de Gea! 2nd half was capitulation. Only the first match of the season and a bad day at the office but it is ONLY the first game and though plenty to sort out no need to press the panic button yet.

Im sorry Plaistow but panic is to flattering a word to describe that performance ,there was so much wrong its nearly impossible to put your finger on fixing it ,i watched all 6 of the televised games and to me that was the worst performance by a long shot ,i hate to say it but considering our next 3 games are away im having a century on our man to be the first target of the axe 9/2

These two will probably finish in the top two. Only Spuds could possibly interrupt this positioning. Spuds have all the luck. It was stalemate against Newcastle until the most stupidest red card.

I thought we started strongly in the second half but again there was a disconnect between the mid field and the forwards. Very disappointing to see Lukaku being given a free header at goal and then as Bilic decided to throw the kitchen sink at Man U by bringing on Sakho for Fernandes, all Man U did was to hit back hard on the counter attacks. Hopefully, Southampton will be a different game altogether. Once again West Ham are at the very bottom of the Premier Division after the very first day. Allardyce could be axed first if Crystal Palace continue with their performances at home to teams that are expected to be relegated at the end of this season.
