Martinez to Real??

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Im staggered by this news. Im also astonished that he is currently being paid 800,000 pounds a year by Belgium. Now maybe he's a likeable guy but come on. what has he done to warrant being the next manager of arguably the biggest club in the world? Belgium? well he and his waffler assistant Henry surely couldn't have done any less with that squad of players? id go as far as to say he fell short by going out in the semis. hazard, de bruyne, lukaku et al. Real would honestly pick Martinez over Pochettino? come on people.

Injury Curse

Submitted by moore2come on

So another 6month layoff for one of our players and I think the are we/aren't we curse can definately be put to bed. No short term injuries for this football club no. One of our players gets injured and it has to be at a minimum a lengthy stint on the sidelines.

An irrational hatred of everything

Submitted by darrenharry on

By Robert Banks is the 4th book in his series, documenting the trials and tribulations of a West Ham fan over the last 25 years.
Rob's first book, An irrational hatred of Luton, is in my top 10 books of all time. It really resonated with me at the time, how someone not necessarily from a literary background, could describe something so well and heart felt. Its painfully funny and accurate, depicting the roller coaster nature of our club mirrored against his personal life, all developing or unravelling.
I've ordered my copy on Amazon today, but believe Ron is in the Black Lion, Plaistow, this Saturday 12-2 and then at Stour Place before the cup match.
No I'm not his publicist and I'm not on a % either! I just think he's a brilliant writer and its been 15 years since his last book, so its like an early Christmas present for me.

Spuds in the next round of the cup

Submitted by cast iron on

At the moment this fixture is gonna be a real headache for Spurs as they have us in the Prem on the 20th Oct, PSV on the 24th Oct, Man Citeh on the 29th which is supposed to be on Sky on the Monday, and us on the Tuesday at 19.45 on 30th Oct according to the BBC website so obviously this lot have got to rescheduled but I can see Pottechino being a little bit stressed when they play us, because spuds fixtures look a bit congested, and with a bit of luck they will have to play a few of their youth and fringe players, What a shame! cos I think Pellegrini will go for it COYI.

Noble and his finger in the dam?

Submitted by Red Neck Iron on

It's my opinion that since the new balance in the team mark noble has been rejuvenated. Here are my thoughts. I recently have questioned his speed and therefore his inclusion. Noble has no doubt be criticised probably more than most over the last couple of seasons but have we got it so wrong! Earlier in the season I said it's either wilshere OR noble NOT both due to speed, they were both too slow. Anyway getting to my point has noble only been guilty of the boy with his finger in the dam trying to plug too many leaks? Have you ever played in a team that a lot of players are either not that good or not putting 100per cent in? I have. If you are committed to the game/club (which noble is) you get drawn into doing other players work load you cover areas bigger than is possible, you get caught in areas you shouldn't be and become more tired, frustrated and look a far worse player as a result. Now we have better players all seemed to be doing their job covering defensively and going forward. noble has been allowed to play more HIS way and more his natural game. Ditto could be said about our defence. We all knew we needed at least 1 defensive midfielder but now we effectively have 2 playing. Taking nothing away from diop or balbeuna but things are a lot easier if they got proper protection which they are now getting. In the last couple of games we haven't panicked or been pulled wildly out of shape I think it all stems from our new 3 some in midfield. Thank the Lord for wilsheres injury as it now allows us to split the midfield up. And may as a result have triggered the noble effect.

It just makes me so angry! God is there no limit to what the wasters who play football would stoop? Normally I stay well clear of talking, listening or reading much about beckham but this just gets my goat. Just for anyone who lives in a cave and is unaware beckham is a multimillionaire. He literally has money to burn. He feels he is so great for this country that he thinks he deserves a knighthood. Anyway the police pull him over for speeding (doing 59 in a 40)and he is taken to court for it. Rather than admit and pay up his demeanour he hires a top lawyer who gets him off. Does he get him off as he proves the evidence to be wrong? No he gets off because the fine arrives ONE DAY too late! Arise sir David what a true star you are.
