An Empty Feeling!

Submitted by Gary Steer on

Are David Gold and David Sullivan REALLY West Ham fans? REALLY??
Before I begin writing this article I just want to say that West Ham fans are brilliant! I am not too sure about the two above though. Are they really interested in what the fans want? I know football is a business Blah Blah Blah! These two guys are businessmen but they are not very good football Club owners.
I have written previous articles and been slated for having an opinion but we are all entitled to have a say. I listen to TalkSport and like most people I believe Jayson Cundy doesn’t speak much sense! But the other night he said “Bilic should walk” and I totally agree with him on this.
Slaven has been treated abysmally by the board but why should anyone be surprised? What a pile of crap they recruited in the summer! There’s no point moaning at the players. If another company offered you better money to do a job you knew you weren’t good enough for would you still take the job? You cannot blame Bilic because his hands were tied. There is no way on earth he would’ve wanted the likes of Feghouli and Nortvedt. Building a team around Andy Carroll again is suicidal! The owners must be brain dead to not be able to see he’s a liability. Yes on his day great but injured every other month. Yet they continue to make him the focal point! I believe the club is in complete disarray!
I’m not surprised Payet left he is far too good a player and he was poorly let down. Had they gone out and spent 50-60million on new players to compliment him then we may have seen a different story. I’m sick of even looking at that stadium I absolutely hate it. Pathetic design 50 feet away from the pitch! Mark Noble has suffered becoming so exposed on such a huge surface and he is so often the scapegoat. It’s hardly ever full so what’s the point of attempting to increase the capacity when you can’t even fill it as it is?! Too much of the last year has been spent talking bull**** by the owners! The digital wrap to go around the stadium and the promise of top 4 football! Come on! seriously who are you trying to fool!? No player with any ounce of self respect would want to join such an amateur circus!
The manager should’ve been backed in the Summer and was promised a 30m striker. I know fans will say oh we did try but nobody wants to go there. Did they really try that hard? I don’t believe they did. They are so tight with the cash it’s unbelievable. They are duplicitous and always trying to cut corners. The Fans treated like dirt, fed lie after lie and I refuse now to be part of it.
'Well you’re not a real fan!’ I hear you groan. And I should stick with my team through thick and thin. Well, for all these new fans who have become keyboard warriors slating the team during a match and then waxing lyrical about the same player ten minutes later, I have attended games for thirty years and travelled 6 hours there and 6 hours back, so before anyone moans, I used to be one of the most loyal fans you could ever meet. And like most Hammers it is was as much a joy watching them play as it was to stand in that fiery atmosphere.
I had heroes whilst growing up, Di Canio, Lampard, Joe Cole, even though the latter two are roughly my age I loved them and idolised them. However, I look around now and see absolutely nothing at all that inspires me. I’m not going to waffle on about how hard life can be and we have all had our bad times but when you experience life changing traumas it makes you realise these footballers are nothing. They are pampered, over priced and overpaid pre Madonnas. They are not heroes they are clueless about life with not even an ounce of resolve. They don’t even have to think for themselves. I do not get excited or breathless about the thought of watching West Ham players running out onto a pitch anymore. In fact, you could offer me a free season ticket and I would happily sell it. (like a lot of ‘fans’ selling their final Upton Park match ticket - remember?)
Enough is enough and I have voted with my feet. I’m no longer going to attend games, moan about what’s going on but still purchase merchandise and continue to increase the owner’s bank balance and ego’s. I asked myself ‘Why do I even bother?’ on hundreds of occasions. If something isn’t right change it don’t moan!
For 5 years from 2011-2015 I was an official partner of the club and my poetry was sold on merchandise. In that time I was always paid late, my emails were never replied to until I’d sent ten and called ten times! It used to be a family club where you could pick up the phone and call but now you sit on a premium rate phone line and half the time you don’t get through and get charged £40 for the joy of it!
The unprofessionalism is unbelievable. You have Gold trying to justify their decisions on Twitter, Sullivan just spouting lie after lie with Small Man syndrome! And Sullivan Junior speaking rubbish all the time. Not surprising as he been fed with a silver spoon and has nothing better to do. Before anyone says this is harsh do you honestly believe these ‘animals’ give a dam about you? They wouldn’t even urinate on you if you were on fire!
Why would a club be like this and why would you want to join it as a player or manager? I wasn’t a big fan of Big Sam but he was treated like crap, Zola too and keeping the trend, now with Bilic too. The less said about Avram Grant the better. The board potentially could’ve got Martin O’neill back then but as usual their big mouths got in the way! They are idiots!
The fans are fantastic but my previous ‘love' for West Ham United has just died. I understand fans will say I’m this and that but I refuse to be part of this anymore. I used to hear people say "Oh I love West Ham even though I don’t support them." You just don’t hear this anymore because they’ve just become a laughing stock in every single department. Other fans and teams have no respect for the club. It is a below average club with World class fans though unfortunately these fans are always sold down the river.
I have been blinkered for so so many years but the club are light years behind and stadium will not catapult them into the top 4. Some fans slate me for being honest but you can’t help the way you feel. Some people can accept being kept in the dark and live a lie. West Ham United FC died and became history when the club left Upton Park. It’s now a soulless commercial Enterprise and although I still look out for results and want to see them do well, I’m no longer a die hard fan!

the truth will out

Submitted by Betty Swollox on

Now the truth about why Payet left is out there, why did he and his agent feel it appropriate to slag off Slava and the the team? If I was him I'd get my nut stuck down and get on with it, in the circumstances. However to come out and publicly rubbish the club as if he had no part in leaving is cowardly. He's gone down even more in my estimations. Just shows you that playing football is also about image and advertising rights, these guys are total mercenaries.

injuries piling up again

Submitted by hammergirl on

Apart from arsenal I have never known a club as injury plagued as us...obiangs now out for the season and Reid and Antonio for a month this is really going to put pressure on our squad...Collins for Reid no doubt and Noble back for obiang unless he plays the young man fernandes for Antonio I expect we shall se feghouli again.when are we going to catch a break this season I ask myself

One up front

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

anyone else tired of seeing bilic revert back to one up front all the time? he tries out 4-4-2 and it looks good, it gives lanzini more space when he's played out on the left. you can even move him into nobles place and stick snodgrass out there instead. antonio can go wide right and ayew can go upfront with carroll. it makes sense to me. this 5 in midfield against the likes of leicester just congests the middle and carroll can't get involved. i really think bilic needs to keep things simpler, tell the defence to defend and we just attack with pace on the wings and crosses into the box for carroll and ayew.

Our so called fans (the minority thank god!)

I always stay in my seat unless people in front of me decide to stand, normally due to a shooting chance in the box so its rare! So yesterday this happened a few times and then I got abuse from people behind us in the next block. I gave it back to them and stated that I only stand when I can't see because of others, but one guy kept on and on and I reminded him that he was at a football match and told him to shut up and get a life. Another guy decided to run across from my seat a little while later and grabbed the top of my shoulders and started to shout and rant, I have to admit that at first I thought it must be a mate that I hadn't seen but when I turned to see him shouting and spitting he got a response. He went back to his seat but after a few moments I decided that his actions were not acceptable and I walked over to him and warned him that if he ever laid a hand on me again he would be knocked out cold, I was seriously pissed off and couldn't believe that one of our own would do that and it was in front of Oliver. The first moaner then engaged with Oliver arguing and I had to inform him that arguing with a 13 year old boy was pathetic and over such a stupid subject. I lost it verbally and apologized to those around me after but they all couldn't believe that this bloke would grab me and shout, but they then also told me that he has been moaning all season at anyone getting up even if its for 30 seconds. Thr guy appeared at my side again and he stuck out his hand and apologized for his actions, to which I shook his hand but remined him that he can't go round doing that and picking me out as I'm the smallest wasn't a wise move. I'm all for seating rather than standing FFS! and those around me commented on the fact that I hardly ever stand, normally to bubbles or to observe a minutes applause for a hammer that has sadly passed away. Those around me told me that these people have rooted out a few people that have dissapeared and been replaced in their seats, and if I need witnesses then they would tell the club what happened. I hope it doesn't get to this although my reaction verbally was a strong one, but why one of our own would think that it's right to physically grab another fan is beyond me and it's a sad state of affairs. I love our seats and a lot of thought went into them, but I haven't yet renewed and I'm going to leave it a while to see how it goes over the next few games before I decide.

why worry?

Submitted by hammergirl on

so we lost again but why worry its what west ham do,supporting this club has never been about winning and consistency its like a relationship you have good times and bad times but you have to stick with it to try and make it work.
I dearly want us to be riding high in the league and winning the odd trophy but the reality is we are a long way from that right now.what happened last year was a freaky and now this year we have our west ham back frustrating the hell out of us supporters who know they are capable of so much more but hasn't that nearly always been the case.so whatever this season holds I have belief we can and will get better but also realise a lot has to change this summer.when that arrives we will all no doubt be worrying about the big clubs tapping up lanzini and although not having the best game yesterday Antonio as well but that's for the summer for now I hope we should all take a deep breath and recharge our batteries ready for the Hull game that has become very very big now.COYI

white lie or the truth

Submitted by mcbikeman on

Well well well it appears that mark noble is out injured for Saturday after picking up a knock in training how convenient for him...is it the truth or is it a white lie hoping that things will calm down some from his words about how he views west ham fans and there knowledge of the game.....while I doubt anything but a few murmurs from the crowd about what he had said may have happened it does seem this training ground injury happened before the first home game after his little venting of the spleen....still hopefully it will give slav the excuse to restore kouyate to midfield (aware for some on here they don't want him there)and maybe I mean maybe and thinking out of the box here but maybe play an actual R/B in the R/B position!

Enough is enough

Submitted by Deluded Hammer on

Enough of this "in Bilic we trust" bullshit. He rode his luck last season with some fluke results whick tended to make many of you overlook some wake up call games in the same season, not least our 1-4 reverse at home to Swansea. Our summer spending has proved woeful, lost probably a player in Tomkins who could have, as a squad player slotted into the RB positiin, January not much better, indeed lost probably our most talented player since those dark days when we mysteriously ended up with two Argentinan internationals. Enough of blaming players. Its the managers job to pick, motivate and prime them. Then again, its the owners job to back the manager with the players he wants, but as we all know, Bilic was never first choice in the first place. Wasn't even second come to that. Was he even third choice? So, let's look ahead. For sure, numerous players need to go, shouldn't even have been there in the first place. Then we have the manager who supposedly recommended these players, irrespective of the fact that these werent the positions that needed addressing. Then we have owners who.....but thats another thread

Makes me sick!!!!!

Submitted by boogerscaravan on

Sports fans, is it just me or what? I'm sick to the back teeth of hearing Arsenal fans bang on and on about wanting Wenger out. It's gone on for many seasons now and I just don't get it. I've been a WHUFC fan since the sixties. I don't really expect much so anything I do get is a bonus. We have not won a domestic trophy since 1980. Ironically against The arse at Wembley. I'd have loved to be in a situation where my manager was in situ for 20 years and had brought me Premiership titles, Champions League Football for the last 16 years with a 4th place or better finish. Plus recent FA Cup success. Where do these ingrates get off? It's a complete farce, if I was Wenger I'd tell them all to foxtrot oscar and retire with dignity to my Luxury Villa in Monaco........
