New physio Gary Lewin

Submitted by andycarrollstyle on

You couldnt make this up... we have just secured the services of ex Arsenal and England physio Gary Lewin who is thought to be highly regarded in the physio world - hopefully he can work some magic on keeping our players fit and free of injuries every other week! Some of you may remember though that he suffered his own injury celebrating a world cup goal when he slipped on a water bottle and broke his ankle... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/worldcup2014/article-2658111/England-p…

Any one else of the opinion its time to say goodbye to big Andy ,? We simply cannot go on like this building an attack around a striker thats constantly on the injured list its heart wrenching to come to terms with but the decision has to be made ,its a cruel twist of fate that a player with such talent should maybe end his career in the lower leagues but 90 grand a week is just not feasible for a club of our size when that player is incapacitated for half the season.
So its a goodnight from me and a goodbye from him

Up the Arse.......en!!!

So the whinging one is staying for 2 years - whoop de do. What are Talkshite and SSN going to do now. At least 45 mins of every show was devoted to the subject. It got more coverage than the title run in itself. Could The Arse make top 4 would Whinger whinge off or would he stay to whinge another day?? We never whinge on here about not winning a domestic trophy since 1981. It's just an occupational hazard, anyway maybe we can all get some peace now. Or maybe there will be another story lined up like John Terry retiring and working part time in Tescos........................!!

apparently. 'apparently' we are in talks to sign him. Man C want 20 mill for him. would be an excellent signing. id eat all my words about the board if we sign him. whether we've actually bid 20 mill or 1 mill is still unknown however.

You hear all season about the need for a winter break the players are knackered the constant stream of games fixture congestion blah blah blah and after such a long hard season its time to give the players a well earned rest so spuds fly off to hong kong and Liverpool to Australia for an END OF SEASON TOUR!! excuse the language but W.T.F is all that about?? ahh yes money so please please please if you ever get a chance to see a prem manager or owner and they start to say we need a winter break just tell them to do one as all a winter break would mean is flying off round the world to make money for he club and not give players the REST the poor dears need.ok I will step off my soapbox now

conte love fest

everywhere I look - conte conte conte. what a manager and what a great man coz he jumps up and down on the touchline. these guys at top clubs how good are they though? a club that buys you who you want. that has a squad better than 90 percent of rest already? im not buying into any of it. conte pep mourinho klopp. they all just do what you should expect any manager to do or in pep and jose case less. put them at west ham or bournemouth or sunderland and then we see how good they are. the press can keep their conte love fest to themselves. to me hes just annoying believing his own hype and tripe.

The Season Just Finished

Submitted by asheshammer on

So many problems this season: Adjustment to the new stadium, injuries, the Payet Sulk, -- yet for all that we finished 11th, equal points with Bournemouth in 10th, and just two points off eighth. Say what you like, but if we had managed to win just ONE more match, we'd have finished 8th -- only one spot below last season's finish. For me, the three straight losses to Bournemouth, Leicester and Hull tell a big part of the story. The beginning of the season was a disaster that can be put down largely to the recruitment & Payet fiasco. The team showed resilience and overcame that in January. But come those three vital matches, we already had players who weren't fully fit, and who may have made their injuries worse by continuing to play. Nobody can be too happy with this past season; perhaps "relieved" is the best word for it now. But we've come through it in a fashion not too bad given all the woes, and maybe we can set about building for a better season next time around. But lest we read too much positivity into the finish, there's a caveat: this season only six points separated 8th and 17th -- that's CRAZY. We have to do better, and should aim again for the 60 point tier.
