Imo the best choice from the possibilities. Mark Noble played a big part in sorting it. Time will tell of course, but I believe given time Potter will prove a good appointment. Lop was never going to work, he was just the cheap option by sullivan and co.

Potter has a decent squad to work with. Hopefully his style of play will bring the best out of kudus paqueta and summer ville and convince them the club is going forward.

Yeah I guess deep down I knew he was gonna get in but it doesn't make my despondency any better. Reading other forums and FB sites, Potter, like Jlo, is not a popular choice. The only difference being is that options during the summer were more plentiful whereas Potter is only the best of a bad bunch and his missus sips gin and tonics at Mr Foggs Gin Club with Brady.. I'd go so far as to say the only choice actually because not for one moment do I believe Moyes, Carrick or Cooper were realistically ever in contention.
Talking of social media it does make me wonder if the board ever read these forums such as this one, KUMB or even West Ham Till I Die. I believe Moyes' wife is on record as saying that David doesn't, but surely the board must at least have heard whispers that Lopetegui was not a popular choice. His managerial record is a bit hit and miss but has a bit more pedigree than either Moyes OR Potter to be honest.
Which brings me to the point where fans of Potter bring up HIS history. "OH, he was a success at Brighton? Was he really? Only finished above us once in his three years there and that was one place and two points. And that was on a team and basis built by Hughton. The first time Brighton finished above us, and by some hefty margin, was the season he bloody left midway through and oh yeah, mustn't mention Chelsea, because that was just a blip. Well excuse me but I'm gonna mention Chelsea because during his tenure there he had a squad far superior that he's taking on here at West Ham and just like Moyes at moneybags Man Utd, he couldn't hack it.
So yeah, what a season its been so far, at this moment up there with the Cubishley/ Avram Grant scenarios for embarrassment and in my opinion is heading only one way. Avoiding relegation is NOT a given at this point in time and with Potter in charge I do not expect it to improve. I don't see the football improving from the dark Moyesball days and I'm nailing my colours to the mast by saying well done Sully and Co, because you have well and truly screwed up this time.

Whats happens now - do the board stick with JLOP and hope we just keep our heads above water or look to replace him? Historically they stick with the managers until end of season but personally wish we would replace him as he is tactically inept.

Emerson the latest player being linked with a move to Juventus is the rumour and we could get £25/30 million for him well if it happens then Scarles has to be moved into the team with Cresswell to help with his development it is a win all round for the club and a boost for "The Academy".

Now i hear all the arguments back and forth about if they were good enough they would be playing and look at the players we let go who are now nowhere to be seen proof that they are not as good as made out.

Bournemouth had a 19 year old central defender starting and does not look out of place Arsenal started 18 year old at Left back in the champions league Liverpool have blooded quite a few and none have sunk out of sight and when you consider the pressure and demands playing for that club is quite a lot to deal with.

Unless tested you never will know if they can or cannot make it and would Cottee of got a chance in todays world? to small to be a striker would be the argument.

So whilst not every academy graduate is going to make it there are times when surely it is better to look within and try something different instead of a foreign or over the hill injury prone player who are costly and really provide us with nothing but hefty wages...and it has to be better than putting square pegs in round holes.
